The Bufalino – Single Person Tricycle Camper
This Eco Gadget was designed by industrial designer Cornelius Comanns from Germany as his bachelor thesis. Although The Bufalino has two seats, it is basically designed as a single person camping vehicle. Cornelius Comanns based his design on the Piaggio APE 50, a three wheeled light vehicle known for its fuel efficiency. This small three-wheeler has minimalist design while its furnished interior is outfitted with two seats which can be converted into a bed, small stove and sink, nine storage spaces, refrigerator and water to provide the coziness of an actual house. The rear doors can be functioned as drying space as well. However, structural components (e.g. engine, frame and chassis) are not derived from the original model.
The concept of this project is to offer complete flexibility during the travel. It can be set as a base camp, but can be moved in leniently. This will provide people with better knowledge of the country, the surroundings, as well as the stretch of their travel. Obviously, without bathroom and limited water reserve, staying at a location with accessible facilities such as campsite would be a good idea. Currently, The Bufalino is only a concept vehicle. But since it is based on an already existing model, seeing it in the production line would be very possible.
