There is no need to reduce the usage of your vehicle, being colder during the winter, or sitting gloomy in the darkness of the night. Eco Friendly Gadgets for energy saving work based on one or more of these three main principles: Energy Efficiency, Waste Reduction or Elimination and Energy Monitoring.
Energy Efficiency
Energy saving lamp might be the most practical and mostly used energy saving gadget. Due to the numbers of lamps we use in our house and the necessity for lighting during the night, cumulative savings from switching conventional lamps to energy saving lamps would be quite significant. Although energy saving lamps is more expensive than the conventional ones, the initial purchase would pay off by the saving from energy usage and the lifespan of the lamps.
Energy Waste Reduction or Elimination
Most of modern appliances at our house have stand-by mode. Even though putting your computer, DVD player, TV, Hi-Fi and other electronic appliances at stand-by mode is convenient, it still consumes power. The feature to turning these devices back on through a touch of a button does not reduce the amount of wasteful energy they use during stand-by mode. By using stand-by savers, these devices can be shut down instantly unplugging the sockets. Stand-by savers can be connected to almost every modern electronic appliance which have stand-by function. This will save energy as well as your money.
Energy Monitoring

Another Gadget Gizmos, following the “Apple Path” with its Apple iWatch, Samsung is creating a concept gadget that claimed will prevent you from forgetting your mobile phone at home, misplace it or losing your mobile phone while you are at public places. The gadget is Samsung Proxima. The concept was design by Californian industrial designer Johan Loekito as a collaboration project with Samsung America as the part of the Eco Friendly Products campaign. The design was created in fall 2009. The tagline of the project is “you’ll never lose your phone again”. This concept gadget combines style and functionality, act as stylish wristwatch and mobile phone.
This concept gadget consists of two parts; the first part is a wristband functioning as docking for the second part, a detachable component act as the calling unit. Using proximity sensor, the wristband will vibrate or emanate tone when the calling unit is beyond a particular distance. If the calling unit is misplaced, you can locate it by simply pressing the “CALL” button on the wristband. It also has the ability to detect your contacts that use same device when they are in vicinity area, allowing you to set your privacy and details of your location.
When attached, the calling unit will operate as LED wristwatch. When detached, the calling unit will have three modes; first is the calling mode (used to make phone calls, off course), when closed it will be in compact mode (don’t know what is this for) and opening the unit to use it in messaging mode. The display for the calling unit will be using color e-paper and dual OLED.

Imagine if you can read online news every day, whenever, wherever, in whatever format you desire, using a reusable device. Not using notebook or some type of tablet PC, but using this new Gadget Gizmo called Electronic Ink Newspaper. Electronic Ink Newspaper would be a device that truly appraises the daily states of the audience when they connect through news contents. The platform is classic and familiar as a conventional newspaper, yet very adaptive, with flexible interface and network system. It inherent all the excellence of printed and screen based formats.
Currently these Environmentally Friendly Products are still a concept, but it is possible to be manifest in relatively short period. Accomplished or not, the concept of this gadget is still cool and interesting, and environmentally friendly. Personally, I would like the display to be less transparent. Reading transparent letters can also be troublesome, definitely not the result desired by the creator.
Have you ever realize how many papers are used for newspapers, magazines, tabloids and many other printed media? Billions of trees are used for this industry every year. If you travel using the subway, you will find many people bury their face in newspaper, either reading the business, fashion, sports, or even gossip column. And after these printed media are done read, it folded, left or even tossed away, hopefully another person will read it. What a way to waste a tree. The main benefit of having a gadget is the constant online connection with the world and the events happening within. Through these high technology devices, we are able to access data from anywhere we want. But, the main problem about accessing information with gadgets is not how to access it, but knowing what you want to access. (continue reading…)
