This wooden safe does costly but also made an attractive solution for preserving your fruits and vegetables. This Eco Cool food safe encases your vegetables inside a box with layer of soil and compost atop of it to ensure any grocery products inside the box remain at cooler temperature of 10 degrees than outside temperature. This is surely not your average Gadget Gizmos, but with some plants filled on top of it, this Eco Cool food safe would have a really attractive appearance.
The cooling process works using the vast thermal capacity of the safe allows it to detain the cool night temperature, and preserving your grocery products during the day. Evaporating water from the grocery product itself will provide additional cooling effect, similar to damp towel being putted over a beer barrel. When this safe is filled with compost and soil, it will be so heavy to be stolen. Locks can also be added to ensure the safety of your grocery products.
This eco cool food safe is a low tech solution for organic storage compared with hot boxes for organic products. Although they are sold at the market, you can easily make this safe yourself using two used wine crates as the sides of the safe, and one wooden shelf for its top. Place one wooden window box planter on the top, and then add some soil. Then you can add the plants. A door from your unused old cupboard would make the perfect closing.
