Although type of deals will be offered by network providers are still remain unknown for the moment, generally there are two types of mobile phone deals offered; contract deals (postpaid) and PayG (pay as you go, or also know as prepaid), both with their own advantages and disadvantages.
Contract deals will give lots of advantages, especially for those who are using mobile phone service regularly, or those who are using their mobile phones for business purpose. For long term, this type of deal will offer significant saving on phone bill, special price for the handset itself and also reduced call rates. Customers can also use the service continuously without the disturbing reloads since contract deals are billed monthly. Contract deals usually also very generous with mobile phone free gifts. Gifts are varies, starting with phone accessories, cash-back, game consoles, notebook or even the mobile phone itself.
But there is also disadvantage for using mobile phones with contract deals. Customers will be bound to contract with network provider for a specific time , usually 6 or 12 months, and since there is usually a penalty for cancelling the contract, customer will not be able to change their network provider before the contract ends.
The PayG (pay as you go) mobile deals are also known prepaid deal. Service charges are immediately deducted from previously loaded balance as customer use the service of selected network provider. Customers can then recharge their balance whenever they wish. No contracts are required for this type of deal, therefore allowing customers to change their network provider anytime.
Another type of mobile phone deal is SIM free deals. This deal is not offered by network provider, but by the phone manufacturer, which giving the customer the handset alone. This handset is free to use with any SIM card, allowing customer to choose any provider at their own convenience.
