Ever since public awareness arises regarding the dangerous side-effects of smoking several decades ago, there have been many people trying hard to quit their smoking habit. Companies have been creating and making advancement for their quit smoking Gadgets and Gizmos for years. These Cool Gadgets vary from gum to nicotine patch which has been used by nicotine addicts to stop their smoking habit.
Electronic cigarettes or also known as electric or e-cigarettes are the most recent available product at the market to quit smoking. Their design is similar with real cigarettes, and they provide similar sensation and taste as real cigarettes. These products have no tobacco content, but using vaporized liquid nicotine instead. The nicotine vapor emitted also creates artificial smoke to make it more similar with the real product. Nicotine vapor, unlike tobacco, contains no harmful carcinogens.
Electronic cigarette has two main parts; nicotine cartridge holding liquid nicotine and small atomizer powered by battery which converted liquid nicotine into vapor when inhaled. Nicotine vapor provide nicotine hit within seconds, while patches and gum take several minutes. During inhalation, small LED lamp on the tip will glow orange to simulate the real cigarette. These nicotine cartridges come in various intensities, mostly in full strength, medium strength and the minimal strength to gradually reduce nicotine addiction in order to control quit smoking program.
Electronic cigarettes are environmentally friendly product since it they do not produce smoke. Therefore, we could safely assume them as Eco Gadget. But the safety of the product itself and their effects to human health are still in question. Up to this point, FDA is still pending their approval for electronic cigarettes, while health practitioners and doctors claim that this product is dangerous for health.
